Why Choose Vision Beyond Eyesight

The benefits of working with me is that I meet you exactly where you are.  I expect you to be hesitant and protective during the early phase of treatment.  Although we are in the virtual space, I invite women to co-create their therapeutic space to create a sense of calm during the therapeutic process.  This clinician utilizes a treatment approach that honors all aspects of you – your strengths, your set-backs, your experiences, your spirituality – and is culturally responsive.  Although it does not feel like it, you possess everything that you need to heal yourself.  Our encounters will be one of respect by inviting you to engage and offering choices so you feel empowered and strengthened.  Above all else, we proceed at your pace and not mine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Helping you understand our therapy process

We understand that seeking therapy is an important step. Explore common questions about appointments, privacy, treatment approaches.

What happens in the first therapy session?

During our first session, we’ll begin with a brief telehealth check-in to verify your identity and review the consent forms and assessment documents you completed beforehand.  I will ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy and begin developing an initial understanding of your concerns and goals. When clinically appropriate, this information will help inform a preliminary diagnosis.  Together, we will  create a treatment plan that reflects your goals and desired outcomes. I will also recommend a session frequency based on your needs, and we will discuss what feels like the best fit for you.

The length of therapy is guided by your needs, goals, and preferences. Together, we will develop and regularly review your treatment goals, making adjustments as your needs evolve. I will offer clinical recommendations to support your healing and help you move toward the outcomes that are most meaningful to you.

What if my spiritual beliefs or practices are different from yours?

This therapeutic space is an invitation to welcome all parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion. You are always free to decide how much you share, including if and how your spiritual beliefs are part of our work together. My intention is to provide a respectful, nonjudgmental environment that supports your healing and unburdening process.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. As a courtesy, you will receive appointment reminders from the electronic health record by email and/or text message. Please note that reminders are provided as a convenience and do not replace your responsibility for keeping track of scheduled appointments.

Your privacy is an important part of our therapeutic relationship. Information shared in therapy and related treatment records will be kept confidential unless you provide written authorization for all or part of your information to be released to a specific person or organization. There are legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, which we will review together during our first session so you understand when confidentiality may need to be broken.

Individual Therapy offers a dedicated space where every part of you is welcome. Together, we approach your experiences with curiosity, compassion, and respect as we work toward the healing and growth that feel meaningful to you.  Conversely,  a support group is a welcoming community where women gather to share, listen, and support one another. In a spirit of compassion and connection, members are invited to learn from one another’s experiences while honoring each person’s lived experience.
